Why disciple-making is important

“Jesus intentionally called a few because that was the only way to internalize his message and mission and to multiply himself. His intent was that is ministry would become the ministry of the Twelve and be the means by which he extended himself to the world.” (Greg Ogden in Tranforming Discipleship p117) Disciple-making is THE model Jesus used, THE model God calls each of his followers to use “go and make disciples”, be fruitful and multiply, “old teaching the young”. Disciple-making is important if we are followers of the model of our master and if we believe in the value of building and loving others to have the same love for Christ.
